Extensions / Junior Manning
 
Looking for any insight into how prevalent extensions and/or junior manning is at C5, specifically with EWR (apologies if covered in another thread).

There's no provision for Junior Manning.

All numbers below are based upon into day off extensions. They don't include same day extensions or extensions into next trip.

July - 40
June - 10
May - 29
April - 17

They no longer publish up to date stats on the website.

Extensions feel more common than the company makes it out to be (especially into same day extensions).

The real problem is that the company isn't so much extending pilots as they remove the pilot from their trip and put them on another which ends later in the same day. I don't know if they are counting these as into same day extensions or not.

I'd expect August and September to be worse, since we have a severe lack of reserves on the CA side.

Plus IT meltdown likely spiked numbers for August.

The CA side is ok, it’s just that the company keeps trying to grow IAD with pilots but the flying isn’t there. So we end up with everyone with lines in EWR and half of IAD on reserve.
