Direct entry captain $175k bonus

Saw this yesterday - DECs get $100,000 “day zero bonus” and $75,000 “signing bonus.” Advertising $300k total first year compensation from bonuses, pay, and perdiem.

Anyone know the fine print on this? Time commitment in order to keep the money, effect on flow to United, etc.? Sounds great and all except they notably don’t offer any of the conditions or other legalese.

CommuteAir Captain Bonuses

I believe it's two years but you'll have to confirm with recruiting. Enjoy 11 days off a month (or less with extensions...yes they can do that), airport reserve every day, and arguing with scheduling and payroll all the time. If they treated employees better maybe they wouldn't need to pay a $175k bonus.

Funny enough this bonus they’re offering is against the contract. Precious DEC bonus was too. Company doesn’t care about the pilots at all.

From I understand the MEC is toeing the line on this one. I hope they get National involved.

United flow

Thinking about a DEC slot and sitting reserve for 2 years (ugh). Would I fly enough to get the 1600 hours to flow with 2 years of reserve?

C5 reserve literally the worst in the industry, you will wish you got a job at McDonald's instead. They even managed to make it worse in the new contract.

Very likely, yes, but maybe a CA will answer.

You'd have to be the biggest dumbA in the world if you choose to be a DEC at commute fail with thier crappy pay rates, instead of envoy or literally any other regional.
