Iocc/logbook pro/APDL

OK so anyone have any luck importing a schedule from our barely functioning, post scheduling software?

I'm trying to use APDL in conjunction with my Logbook Pro stuff. Been putting stuff in manually but hoping there's a better way.

I use LogtenPro and it works good with the export feature of Rosterbuster. So, at the end of the day I just update my Rosterbuster to sync the times and then export it to Logten. It populates pretty seamlessly. I just have to fill in the tail number, the captain's name, and PF.

So it really works? I have been super paranoid to try it.

Use Logbook pro as well

I've been able to import via APDL, with minor modification. I gave you a step by step. You will need to import each trip separately which is a little hassle.

IOCC-->Trip trading and Open time mgmt
Click on one of your trips in the pairing number (left side below the calendar), and it will change the calendar to the pairing text.
Copy and paste the pairing text in the former calendar box.

Open APDL, go to schedule importer
Paste the trip data in the box.
DELETE THE DASHED LINES BETWEEN DAYS, leave the line between days blank (critical-- won't work without doing this)
Process trip (Should say X days and Y legs)
Should be importable into your mobile app via import trips.

Hope that helps-

Can you have apdl calculate your pay? I'm not sure what the advantages are over a regular logbook. I don't need to keep close track of 117 since the company does. What am I missing here?

Electronic log books

APDL won't calculate pay. APDL is primarily a schedule importer to Logbook Pro. APDL will also provide a flying calendar and map, similar to Rosterbuster. The APDL tool just saves you typing schedules into Logbook Pro.

I just past my 3000th flight and have to say an electronic logbook is really helpful. Especially Logbook Pro's feature that gives you an airline apps report that lets you fill data into applications with minimal effort. I also prefer to have my logbook on my phone that syncs with my computer which logbook pro does. When I need to bring a logbook to an interview I can print it and bind it as required. It also has some features that helps locate errors in the logbook- a very useful feature as your number of flights grows. You can export your logbook into Excel or other formats as well, if you want to run your own analysis of data as well.

117 mandates that both the certificate holder and the crew member are jointly responsible for keeping track of their legality so I wouldn’t put all of your faith in your company. How do you know they haven’t innocently or intentionally manipulated your times? The risk isn’t worth the reward, IMHO.

Yes, APDL will track pay but that part of the app is rough around the edges. It takes a lot of tweaking and will evolve over many months of personal use. I doubt one would get it absolutely dead on accurate. I’m hoping the developer will eventually spend a lot of his time improving this part of the app sooner rather than later.
