Hotels, and what to expect?

Hey guys,
I saw this posted in another companies thread today, and it was something that hadn't occurred to me. Currently at the 135 I work at, our hotel situation is...well...weak at best. I guess I assumed that all hotels are about the same with the regionals, but it looks like that is not the case. I know what we stayed in during the interview at MSP (Towneplace Marriott). Are these the types of hotels that we can expect while on the road, or when commuting a day prior to our trip? Or does it really depend on the city.

Thank guys!

I think we have pretty good hotels. Nice rooms with basics and sometimes even a fridge and microwave. Few have free breakfast, most have restaurants within walkable distance. Gyms are alright for what you'd expect at a hotel. Good amount have pools. Rooms seem clean and usually quiet. Not sure what you look for in a hotel but ours are pretty good in my opinion. Any problems are usually addressed by the lobby, if not there's an ALPA hotel committee.

It's not the Fairmont usually. Some are better then others. Realistically, they're all pretty safe, they're mostly very clean most of the time, and they're usually quiet but that's probably where I run into the most issues. Hit or miss as far as stuff around them, free breakfast etc. For a regional, they're OK, though. No La Quinta/Econolodges, thankfully, it's always a littttle bit better.

Why the hate on La Quinta? They have actually stepped up their game quite a bit the last several years. They are on par with say Holiday Inn's. YYJ hotel is really nice.
