I would not recommend doing a SAN turn for observations. yes its a short flight and most guys just want to get them done with but the whole point of the observations is to learn a little bit. SAN is so short that you won't even catch half of what is going on and you won't have any time to ask questions. take a flight over to LAX and then do LAS or SJC or SMF. they are all about an hour flight and you will have a little more time to see things and ask question and still make it back to PHX the same day.

Looks good - but if you want to shorten it a bit, maybe try the return to SLC after DEN. Not much benefit to watching the crew put their feet up for an hour in cruise but exposure to LAX is always good.

I would say you will learn a lot more on this than the original route you proposed. the DEN to LAX flight will be a little long but it will give you lots of time to ask questions... ask them about ACARS and VNAV those are two things that don't get covered enough in training and there is a lot to talk about it will make the hour in cruise seem like 15 minutes. I hope you get a good crew (most are) that like to show you things!

Upgrades are going on, and it looks like it will continue per the vacancy.
As for new classes, per the last update the classes would continue. It has been quiet on the *anything substantial* communication from the company though.
Tomorrow is the union appointed deadline for a legitimate company update.
Keep the CJO, probably prudent to try and obtain others just in case. As crappy as that is to say.
