Default JB’s founder starting new E195 airline in US?

This may be relevant to Compass E170 Pilots concerned about being displaced. Looks like Dave Neeleman, JetBlue’s founder, is looking to start a new operation in the US using used E195s coming from his Brazilian airline (Azul is replacing older E195s with newer Embraer E2s). This is in addition to the firm order for 60 new A220-300s (CSeries) for an airline given the codename MOXY - although the article mentions separate certificates. Not many details yet... see article below:

Again, not many details yet....

Not even on our managements radar, not the opportunity they are seeking, to my understanding

As another pilot pointed out, this could be a good opportunity for Compass pilots looking to exit or who are concerned for their jobs given the recent partner issues. Didn’t Compass just lose it’s Delta West Coast flying?

How will Neeleman staff 30 E195s? He’ll be looking for rated pilots... Get it? That said, still not many details.

This could be a similar situation to Northwest purchasing the certificate from ACA. However, we would likely have to get out of the AA flying early. From what I’ve gathered, many industry pilots are salivating at the thought of a single to double digit seniority number. So I don’t think Moxy will have any difficulty attracting pilots. Aside from the initial training cadre they won’t all have to be type rated. In a recent memo, our CEO hinted that the deal may not be made public for months which aligns with the Moxy rumor.
