Gouge on aviationinterviews.com is spot on, minus the sim. That is no longer included, according to HR.

Dont gouge. A gouge can lead you down the wrong path, airlines do change their interview methods frequently.

Just study and be honest. The interviewers at Compass are great people, you wont have a problem.

Considering that advice goes against the conventional wisdom... Gouge is a great aid to focus your prep. Know your stuff, but never pass up intel. Don't rely on it as a crutch, but you would be wise to review the gouge.

The computer exam is tricky - not because of the information - but because you cannot change your answers and go back. It was kind of disorganized. Show up, do the test and then a lot of waiting. To be fingerprinted, to do the sim (it was still a part of the process 4 months ago), to interview. Also if you are flying in the same day plan on at least $60 for cabs. It was about $15 from MSP to the clinic which is right next to the NWA training HQ - about 5 min ride. The cab from the clinic to the PanAm facility runs a bit more and takes about 10-15 min. But you also need to factor in the dispatch time for the cab to arrive. I almost missed my interview because it took them 90 mins to get one to the clinic. When done they will call and give you a voucher to get back to MSP.

If they require a 'valid' 1st class medical for the interview, and I have a 1st but using the second class privileges (7 months old), will they accept that or should I renue it and get my 1st before the interview?

it's still valid, but I would have a current one for all interviews.

If you are under age 40, the first class is now valid for one year, not six months. Previously, after six months it would revert to second class, that is gone unless you are over age 40 in which case it is still six months.

How long ago did that change drop into the FARs, I just looked it up and sure enough its there?
I assume that eventhough the back of my medical says 6 months it is referencing a FAR so a medical would still be good for 12 months!

Crap I need to study I guess I never heard about that either. The company is still sending out the notices to get a medical every 6 months so I guess that will be changing soon to then

It makes me wonder what other things have changed lately.
