Compass Training Pay?
So how does Compasses training pay work? Is there any? I see that they have a 1 day orientation in MSP then send you home for 30 days to self study before bringing you back for sim training. So are you unpaid during those 30 days they send you home? Or are you un-paid til you get on line with them?

you get 3.5 hours pay for the day in MSP and 15 for the home study. When that check comes you can almost buy dinner AND drinks.

That should be worded dinner and drink for one. The money paid for the home study covers about 1/3 of what it really takes to get through it. The time spent in Montreal the hotel is Good but getting worse. They used to have some type of food available 4 days a week. They have drastically cut this down in the last 2 months. Unless you live in MSP or DTW I think you will be happier elsewhere. |
I do live near DTW, so I've been looking at Mesaba, Pinnacle and maybe Compass.
That training pay is horrible though! I highly doubt that if your to thoroughly study the material that you could still hold down a job. |
3 different carriers? Doesn't sound like you've been happy anywhere. Where are you coming from?

Furloughed AKA poor luck!!!

On-demand freight, and no I'm not furloughed. With the way the regionals have been hiring it seems now would be a good time to make a move, even if it is a move back wards for alittle while. What's wrong with looking at 3 different carriers? I haven't worked for 3 different carriers, I'm going into my 4th year working for the same 135 operator that I hired on with at only 800hrs. I personally wouldn't think it would be very smart to only look at one job and not consider any other options. |

Would you say that it takes about 45 hours to complete the home study?
It took me about 2 1/2 weeks but I was still flying up to the week before I had to return to MSP. 45 hours is a good time line. According to the FAA it should only take us 30 hours and the company pays half of that time only 15 hours of pay. |
