Leave Eagle for Compass?
I need some advice from any Compass guys out there. I am currently flying the Saab for Eagle and holding a very nice line, upgrade is still years away though. I have an interview coming up with Compass and can not decide whether or not I would take the job if offered. What is it like there? What are the chances of getting Memphis? Is upgrade still quick and what are the min times for upgrade? Would it be worth leaving Eagle for Compass? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Look out for #1 is all I can say. Would love to hear how things turn out though.

No one really knows how Compass will pan out but it's up to you. What does your TT look like? There are other places you could go like on-demand cargo. Generally speaking regional to regional isn't favored. During severe hiring booms they might make a little more sense but with the majors cutting flying, especially the the cuts NWA just announced, it might not be the best time to send yourself to the bottom of another seniority list.

Stay where you are. The weather is probably nicer where you are anyway.:) Seriously, AE never hired anyone for a 3 or so year stretch after 9/11 so upgrades are gonna get shorter I think. |

Im pretty sure you know about the 5yr FO that left AE for aloha a couple of months ago and got the unfortunate news! The way things are now with the high fuel prices, I would stay put. |
since no one in this thread obviously knows anything about Compass, I will chime in.
Compass was created by NWA as a way to save money, mainly as a cheaper alternative to the NWA DC-9 routes. What happens if fuel prices rise? Well that does not hurt Compass one bit. Infact, it makes NWA management want to get rid of more expensive DC-9's and fly more Emb.175s. Compass wont go anywhere in these tough times. |
...
Unless NWA goes someplace.
If DAL and NWA merge, the will not need: Pinnacle Mesaba Skywest Expressjet Comair AWA Colgan Are there any that i am missing. The theoretically need about half of those regional that they currently have. It is a nice idea though. |
