Some one correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Compass' certificate was from ACA/Independance. The reason why it took Compass so long to get certified was because they let the certificate expire. I believe you have to have so many flights in a month or something like that. So if the ticket did expire.....no airbus, crj or anything. I also believe the ticket is aircraft specific, so if you don't fly that type of airplane for so many days it comes off. I picked up most of this when I went through the shut down at Skyway, don't take it as a reg. but thats what I gathered from everything.

yea DN i think you're right... that would make sense.

sorry 'bout getting skywayed :(

sorry for those of you that got all spooled up...like i said it was a rumor that i heard through the grapevine. i dont know the "real" reason why rah would want compass and dont care. i DO care about mainline jobs being available and mainline jobs pay not being deteriorated like the regionals have. i dont know how many days rah guys get off and that wasnt the point either. my point was this: we dont need "rah" management mentality at the mainline level.

moving on...rah might be on par with most regionals now, but it is only because most of the other regionals had to take a pay cut to match what rah was paying their pilots. (they did this by using mesa as the bottom and using averages) i know this because i dealt with it at comair. by the time these regionals lowered their pay/workrules to match rah it was too late. rah already had hundreds of pilots with 1-3 years senority while the other regionals had 10-20 year senority so these top heavy regionals were behind again. so the top heavy regionals had to dip lower again. hence the reason rah pilots have a contract now that somewhat mirrors most of the regionals. it is still lacking a lot of work rules but pay wise its pretty close. obviously you all know this, but it should be pointed out when a rah pilot stands tall as if they have done something to help the regional level. i am sure alot of you rah pilots dont like what i have to say but it is simply my opinion. no one really knew this would happen this way...but it did. hopefully all have learned from these mistakes and we can all work together to not let it continue to happen at the mainline level.

Uh......I dont think its called the "9" at Mesaba. At least I have never heard it called that. But then again I have never been to MEM, so I can only speak for MSP and DTW.

It is NOT called the "9" in MEM either. XJKID must not work for Mesaba.

Would people be offended if Saab drivers called it "the 340" as in A340? Seriously folks, this whole argument about you can't call your little RJ the same nickname as the the DC-9 because its just not worthy is silly. I mean i don't wear my epaulets backwards, or call the 900 the 9, but nor would I get upset about it if someone did. WHO CARES!?!? It doesn't take dollars out of my paycheck.

I like flying the 900 and I don't appologize for saying so. I think everyone who flies it likes it as well. But Im also happily moving onto the Saab left seat in another month or two. There is a certain perspective that every pilot will learn once they've been doing this long enough. But the kind of bickering that goes on daily about what nickname someone calls the airplane that they fly just goes to show the level of divsive thinking among us all.
