Gotcha! More of the same crap

So what you are saying is that Compass is going to grow or are you implying they are just shifting assets. Delta has the ability to add only 30 more 76 seaters and they are maxed out on 65-70 seaters.

So if it's not a shift in flying then they will not exercise the CRJ 900 options and buy Ejets to be flown by Compass with deliveries late 2014 as one option. Another would be to bring airplanes from RAH to Compass or as 700-900 who's leases expire are exchanged for Ejets flown Compass.

FWIW, Delta still has options on 36 E175s. With the scope clause, they could only get 30 of those 36. If excercised, deliveries would be:

2014: 4
2015: 18
2016 and beyond: 14

So they have options for CRJ and Ejets then. Who will match Pinnacle's cost for them is the question then.

It'll be a welcome improvement over the mass amounts of LaGarbage flying we've been doing!!

It's all still in the works. But Delta has been on record as saying they want to beef up their West Coast presence in general and it looks like Compass will be the ones, along with Skywest, who will be providing the seats. There have been talks of phase 2 which is slated to begin in January, which currently is not loaded into the GDS, but includes places such as SEA/PSC/LAS/OAK/PHX among others out of LAX. Of course Delta could change their mind at any time so who knows but that is currently what management is expecting come January and 'phase 2' of the DCI carrier realignment.

However, I found out today as it relates to all the actual MX personnel they will be hiring. Currently posted MX supervisors in SFO/LAX/MCI... and they will be hiring something like 2 mechanics in SFO, 4 in LAX, and 3 in MCI. If this was just to be a short lived temporary thing I don't think they would be going out and actually hiring these people in lieu of contract maintenance.

Some will be happy that most of our MSP-Canadian flying will be transitioned to Skywest and Pinnacle. In fact this is the case starting in September and will probably continue into the next GDS load.

The more you type, the more evident it is that, while you know as much as others who follow these things fairly closely, you're clearly no more 'in the know than anyone else.

Thanks for your opinions though.

According to the Mx folks I talked with tonight there is a difference. A supervisor will oversee contract Mx. If the start hiring regular mechanics then that is a bigger operation. That is a difference, which I was unaware of. I know we had Dtw folks in lga overseeing contractors doing the service checks and oil servicing.

Also a job posting for dtw fa's apparently the have an open house soon. Same for msp.
