Do any recent new hires have an idea of where their sim training will take place?? Lots of rumors flying around about sending guys overseas... can't find sim time here in the good ol' states. I wouldn't mind taking a trip over to Paris for recurrent training

I wasn't aware that new hires were going to get sent overseas. I had heard that recurrent and upgrade could be though.

That was the rumor I heard. Two reasons. Upgrade is a shorter footprint and they would have to provide hotels to new-hires if it was anywhere but msp.

Had sim training the other day and the checking instructor told us CP did find "some" time in St. Louis but not as much as they need. I hear we're still about 100hrs of box time short for Oct. Also we have yet to get approval to use the computer based cockpit mockups in St. Louis for the lessons you do before the sim an there's only 2 of those in MSP. I also heard it would be recurrents and upgrades going to any out of base training.

What is the EFB situation? I know that the manuals are stored on them in the flight decks, any plans to load Jepp charts on them and ditch the flight case?

Unfortunately no plans to ditch the flight case at this time. With all the hiring and hopefully upgrades the company doesn't seem too interested in going through the approval process for a full EFB at this time.

Everything that I've heard in the school house is taken care of until mid-October, after that no one knows. TSH is dragging their feet with that issue. I've heard Montreal, Dallas, or South Florida as well...no one seems to know what will happen

There has been talk of ditching the EFB's all together and going to a more stable platform (tablet), I don't think it will happen anytime soon though...
