I think that you need to look internally rather than externally of why you're not getting a call. I personally know most of our recruiters and they are ALL stand up people!!!

When I interviewed at Compass everyone was great. It was a good experience, I agree with you. If you're not getting a call there are just more qualified applicants available. Keep your resume updated and you'll get called eventually.

I started in January. Completed IOE last week. Will be bidding 50% in LAX when I go there in June . Currently a handful from the bottom in MSP for May. 3.5 months of training start to end of IOE line check.

Congrats!

Headed to SW later this year, really looking forward to it after 23 years and 5,000 hours (yes, you read that right) of piston flying.

The LAX base at Compass caught my attention (and those shiny new E175s)...but SW seems like a great fit for me. If I'd known about Compass before I'd probably have applied as well. Sounds like they have a good operation goin'. Best of luck to you, sir!

Congrats! With no previous 121 experience - just keep your head in the books during training and you'll be fine.

Are you asking how he got the job with no 121 experience or are you saying how will he be "fine" with no 121 experience in training?

How he got it.

I guess we will have to wait for their answer, but I'd guess that they went to a good school and had an above average GPA - maybe flew part 91 or 135, has a clean record (inside and out) of the cockpit, and the recruiters saw that he would be a strong candidate for their program...?

It was true for me - but some people that are wet behind the ears with 121 will absorb things better than someone who has flown SOP's for another carrier for years...obviously the 121 world experience can't be trained, but it can be quickly learned by a motivated pilot.
