The Holiday Inn has a Compass rate of $52 per night. Works out to 26 per person per night. Shuttle gets you from the airport when you commute in/ go home for the weekends. Also runs you to Pan Am, no car required!

How far approx is the training center from the crash pad?

It was $300/mo. Its not in Eagan, its just east of KMSP. Its right off a light rail station so to/from airport is easy. I didn't have a car, so I took the bus from the crash pad to the training center, but it only runs M-F during working hours. That works during the first few weeks of indoc and systems but I had to get rides a lot in IPT and SIM because of odd hour schedules.

SEA-LAX going mainline

looks like SEA-LAX going away from Compass??

Starting June 4 Delta will operate 7 of its 8 daily SEA-LAX with mainline aircrafts, a huge capacity increase compared to the current offer (6 E75 + 1 752). DL had resumed this route in april 2013 with 3 daily CR9 flights.

DL 1578 SEA 0700 - 0950 LAX 739
DL 1974 SEA 0815 - 1105 LAX 73H
DL 1556 SEA 1110 - 1400 LAX 73H
DL 848 SEA 1300 - 1550 LAX 739
DL 2048 SEA 1430 - 1720 LAX 73H
DL 2398 SEA 1615 - 1855 LAX 752
DL 2199 SEA 1830 - 2115 LAX 73H
DL 5786 SEA 2030 - 2315 LAX E75

On a separated note, the 7 daily SEA - ATL will operated by the new 739s this summer.

No surprise. If a route is popular the next logical step is to up gauge it. I would not be surprised to see more routes taken over by mainline out west as the route structure matures. Freeing up the smaller plane to try out something new or cover a less lucrative route. I'm surprised as it is that routes like LAX-SEA, LAX-SFO, SFO-SEA, are on E175's instead of 737's or A320's.

In any case, Delta has a history of moving Compass around.

If SEA doesn't open, and DTW closes, where will compass have its 3rd base? Or will it just rock 2 bases for the delta flying?

There is a decent bit of SLC flying. I dont think its enough to open a base though.

conquestdz 01-05-2015 07:08 AM

They won't open a new base unless DL or AMR give reasonably a long term commitment to that flying, so if we close DTW, two bases is a possibility.
