Did anyone else notice that LA base shrunk a little on this last realignment bid? Just wonder if that is a trend or just pushing people over to SEA.

Yes, it takes longer. Especially if you are new to 121.

Just a couple quick questions and dont start on flame bait junk:
1. What is upgrade time like there now with ~300 Hrs. of 121 time? (had a friend that just upgraded not too long ago)
2.Are people holding lines right out of training? (what are the lines like?)
3. Is it still pay for your hotel during training?
4. is it still home study and then return for sims sort of deal?

1. That's the $64000 question. I started late Sept and my upgrade class is less than 5 months after hitting the line. I flew about 250 hours in that time. Would have been more outside of MSP. Most FO's on property will have the time to upgrade by the time you can. What's harder to tell is who will bypass for bases and QOL. My WAG, factoring high Mainline hiring and no additional growth, is you're looking at 2 years for upgrade. Ask anyone who was in the biz in 2007; this is subject to change anywhere.

2. If you're based in LAX you may get a line right out of training depending on seniority in class and when you hit the line vs. classes behind you. Count on a month rsv. Lines depend on how you bid and what you want. Count on 85-95 hrs and min days off to start.

3. Hotel is now paid for. Per Diem paid only if training away from MSP.

4. 2 weeks home study (referenced above) then return for Ground School, general subjects, systems, procedure trainers, and sims.
