Assuming what? I asked if you had 1000 hours of 121 time. If you think that is assuming when asking for help, good luck in this industry. Great start.

I feel sorry for every pilot that has to fly with you. I only hope you can fly the plane safely. But we have our doubts.

Guess I have to admit guilt being one of those college people that may make you throw up with the mere thought of dealing with me but I still offer some advice on the possibly of getting your degree with the least amount of anguish. Being 53 years old and never having completed my degree until recently, There are a couple of colleges out there that are both regionally and nationally accredited, online and the classes can be completed at your own pace. And by destroying my health temporarily due to no sleep exercise Eating junk being out of work, I was able to complete 126 college credits to earn a BSc. in Business Administration in 4 months. And the school carried the 0% interest loan for my training which was $11,000. If you can apply yourself to that point, it can be done. PM for details if you want.

The best part is he is like that in person too. Not well liked.

My .02 cents, is you all are too late to jump rapidly into the left seat with just a few months as an FO. I don't know for sure, but I would bet on it not happening, especially if I am gambling a current job or house, etc. If you are of the mindset: "if I get it fast awesome, if not that's OK" then give it a shot. If it would be devastating to upgrade in over a year, don't risk it, that's the likely scenario.

I am one of thoses who was able to catch the recent quick upgrade train, but I interviewed in August of last year. I wasn't going to risk coming if it was over 18 months. I did the attrition+growth math, and I knew it would happen fast, even when the current upgrades were at 2 years. Starting now though, there is probably around 100 more upgrades left to cover the growth and flows. 115 guys have been bypassed, and a large chunk have flown over 1 year, and are closer to bidding CA each day. And you also got a lot of new hires with the time ahead of you. It may be possible but I wouldn't bet on it.

Much appreciated...thanks for the info

So what would be a reasonable upgrade time frame? 1-2 years? Will the movement stop because so many lower time guys will upgrade first? I have 121 time but not 1000 hours. I don't mind sitting right seat for a while though, just curious how long it might be. More interested in having an Ok QOL in Minnie first and foremost. Is this doable?

As it's been pointed out many times in this thread. MSP is shrinking. Yes a lot of captains are flowing out of MSP to Delta, but if hired now it would take a long time to be senior in MSP. Unless you live there and want to be on RSV, then LAX is the place to be.

Compass will always have pretty good movement it seems, especially now that majors are hiring full steam, the list will turn over quickly.

That's not what other compass pilots are saying. They are saying MSP is done shrinking and staffed properly. I'm not talking about being a senior captain in MSP. I want to know what the QOL would be for a new hire in MSP. I have 121 time but not 1000 so as an FO building time, I was just asking if MSP in the right seat is attainable and will I be moving up the list fairly fast. I'll deal with the upgrade issue when I'm comfortable, ready and I could hold the upgrade.

I asked the guy if he had 1000 hours of 121 time so I could help him make a decision based on the current situation at Compass. He was offended I asked since he has 6000 hours. That is all.

Not surprised you are chirping on here. You are full of filth coming from your mouth.

Couldn't tell you man. A big chunk of the FOs that are being bypassed are MSP guys. When they get their times and upgrade I'm sure it will cause a lot of vacancies. I think 2-4 years for upgrade.
Most of the captains by years end will be captains for less than a year, and it will take 1.5-2 years to get 1000 TPIC that make them more marketable to move on. And just because you have the time doesn't mean boom you're gone. I think once the growth settles down the attrition from the top will be at a lower rato than other airlines with more seasoned and senior captain pilot groups. Though I would say nearly all Compass guys are motivated to move on. But that's all just my own speculation.
