$3750/month for 3BR is pretty high for El Segundo. Mabye Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, or downtown LA, but not El Segundo.

Sounds like a landlord pulled the fast one on a bunch of corn fed $60k millionaires from dem middle states.

I'm renting a room from the owner. Yes it's expensive, but when you factor in off-street parking, a really well equipment and nice gym, 10 minutes drive from the airport in traffic, internet being included in rent, and bi-weekly maid service, it's a better deal (for me) than renting a place in Long Beach for 1k/mo. The unit was built in the last 2-3 years too.

Different company these days. Those corn fed bumpkins are making more money now and the Bra's are keeping the Compass ship alive. Speaking for middle state guys though, that money is better spent on a lake cabin.

As a potential new hire and someone looking to get based out of LAX, how long can you expect to stay on reserve at LAX before getting a line? Also, what type of flying to you do of that base (i.e. out and backs, 3-5 day trips, or a combination of both)?

2 months of reserve. Trips are everything you can think of. From CDOs to 5 day trips and everything in-between.

it goes senior to reserve holders, but not to line holders....mostly due to the fact that they can convert you from LCR to short call and do quite frequently.

If anyone wants to live in SD, I can rent a good size spare bedroom/bath for $850. Del Mar, on the water, ocean view all rooms. Hate to waste it, but gone all the time flying now. PM me if interested. Guarentee even you MSP folks would convert..
