Benefits @ Compass

Hey all,

I have an interview at Compass in a couple weeks. Have been trying to dig thru some of the older threads, and their website, to get some insight into the benefits they offer pilots, but couldn't find what I'm looking for. Do they have decent medical coverage? Is it offered for dependents? How about Flex Spending Accounts? How are the travel benefits on Delta? Guest passes so I could fly my family & friends to MN to visit? Positive space vs. standby travel for guests? A 401(k) would be a plus, but at $24/hr, its not like theres much to set aside.

I know this is another can of worms, but now that Trans States owns Compass, have any current Compass pilots noticed any big changes? (besides flow-thru to delta being cancelled...honestly I'm indifferent to that, my goal is to work for Hawaiian or Cathay)

Thanks in advance for your insights! :)

The medical is not the best I've ever had, but it's ok for a regional. United Healthcare PPO plan. I pay about $340 per month for myself and my family. The plan pays 80% after a $700 family deductible. I think for an individual it runs about $100 per month with a $350 deductible. There is a Flexible spending account available as well as dental and life insurance through Cigna. No vision insurance is offered.

The pass benefits are pretty standard Delta Connection benefits. Unlimited standby for you and your family after paying a $50/year fee. Transoceanic travel is limited to six days per year. Parents pay yield fares to travel. There are also interline agreements with most other airlines out there. We don't get buddy passes anymore now that TSH owns us.

We do have a 401k. Compass, er TSH, matches 50% of your contribution up to 6%. After 4 years this goes up to 8%, and after nine up to 10% (not that Compass will be around that long). You are 100% vested after completing your third year with the company.

As far as changes; other than the pass benefits, some administrative stuff like payroll, no longer having vision insurance, and a big legal battle between TSH and ALPA, no there haven't been any significant changes. Yet.

Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

Where are most of you new hires/interviewees coming from? Furloughed? Other regionals? Cargo?
