Question for Compass Pilots

Just wondering how things are going over there. I have not applied yet but have been thinking about it. Is it to late to be part of the "hiring boom"? Wondering how long one can expect to be on reserve and which base is junior? Upgrade time, QOL, etc?Any other information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Not a Compass pilot, but from what I've read, this is just the beginning. They've hired around 100 of the 140-170 they need this year, and that will be the case each year for the next 3 years. Just over 500 pilots on property and over 300 of them will flow to Delta in the next 3 years. You do the math. Lots of rumors about a west coast base which would potentially be the junior base and making MSP and DTW a bit more senior. Everyone I know there really enjoys working there!

Any CP guys, correct the above if it's incorrect.

Sounds about right. Not sure if we have hired 100 yet, but probably getting close to that.

What are the prospects for a fresh 1500 hour ATP with less than 100 turbine and no 121/135 getting hired there? Ikniw a couple higher time guys with previous 121 working there but no 121 newbs.

Never know until you apply.

Mods can you combine this with Compass updates? Really don't see a need for 100 different threads for 1 airline.

I'm a 2500hr ATP with multiple jet types and my app has been in since August. My contacts have told me my application has been reviewed twice. I don't have 121 time either and that seems to be their deciding factor. I'm going to try meeting with them at a job fair in DFW this week.

I'm a 1600 hr ATP with no 121 time and I got an email from them last month. I'd say 121 time isn't such a big factor...

Hang in there and stay patient.

I applied in early June with no 121 time (I'm a 135 freight guy, ATP, ~4,500 hours and some turbine) a couple of internal recs, MSP local, etc... and by the end of September hadn't heard anything and figured I wouldn't get called.

Wound up interviewing in late October and picked a Jan. 2 class, so it can take a while.

Looking back, I'm really glad I didn't give up, kept updating Airline Apps and didn't let the delay get me down. I kept reminding myself that they're dealing with a bunch of hiring/upgrades/flows right now, after doing almost zero for years, so things are only going to go so quickly.

I'm sure stopping by at the Dallas event can't hurt, they're great folks.

Stay positive and wow 'em silly. :)

Will

How were your grades? Is your application and resume mistake free? Maybe you should have someone look at your resume and/or look at other examples.

My college grades were descent (3.5), and I finished my degree.

I have been updating my application several times a month, and I have been getting offers to interview at many of the regionals except Compass. Naturally, I assumed it was because of no 121 time. I am hoping to find out more at the job fair.
