I looked at the LOA, and I'm no lawyer, but it seems to me it simply says the company and union didn't agree on requiring negotiation for a signing bonus, however, the company did agree not to do publish the mentioned $10k bonus if the union stops its grievance. Any smarter people see it differently?

Are we really short? There is almost nothing on SEA and MSP CA open time!

Considering we hired only 20 people all summer...yes.

I understand the point is we need new hires, but at 75hrs a month, brand new FO's off oe are going to make 85% of a second year captain? That's not right. Secondly, at the rate people are leaving, I think it a retention would actually keep some junior guys from bailing just to get the hell out of Compass. It would hold them on property instead of using a llc or another regional as a stepping stone to a legacy. It's a two way street, if you can add pilots, keep the ones you have.

Keep in mind training takes 3 months. So if we're only a little short now, even if we start filling classes today, won't see any new guys until December. By than another 80 pilots will have already moved on
