Tips on managing a jet aircraft
Hello all,
I have been tasked with managing 1 jet aircraft Part 91. A Challenger 300. Some of the more important items include:
Obtaining the aircrafts Master Equipment List to determine
what service bulletins have & have not been complied with.
Knowing the manufacturers inspection program &
Knowing what aircraft tracking program is being utilized.
I have heard bad things from some users about “CAMP”.
Any suggestions regarding programs, software, etc much appreciated!

Things I’ve learned over the years.
- Get tasks done early
- Have a plan A, B and C
- When talking with the boss, have answers and already ready to put them into action. Nothing worse than not having answers or solutions for the boss
- Lean on and learn from other Managers/CAMS/Tech Reps. Ask questions!! The old adage stands......the only dumb question is the question not asked.
- Have patience when dealing with the FSDO and Manufacturers in developing manuals. Apply pressure to keep the process rolling....but also do so with tact and patience.
- CAMP vs FlightDocs......you’ll get 40 different opinions from 20 pilots. Test them both and see what you like best.
