If you think FBO ramps at GA airports are tough beans, try working for one of the companies like ASIG that fuels airliners all day. That is one of the hardest jobs there is. You will "not" be late getting a turnaround done more than a handful of times, and turnarounds are 20 minutes to move 5,000 gallons of Jet A, paperwork and all. Make a mistake and you are in serious trouble with the flight crew. Add rain, blistering sun, genuine equipment problems, an angry captain, an FAA inspector, or having to cover for that guy who quit because the job sucks and you have a job most roughnecks in Texas would gladly turn down. I did it for a summer and I was pretty happy when the summer was over.

I use to work at Northstar at PVD and we fueled airliners all day. The GA pilots sometimes had to wait for fuel and could never understand that we had to fuel airliners too.
