Default FedEx Corporate Aviation

Anyone have the inside scoop on FedEx Corporate? I'm looking forward to my move to MEM. I'm trying to land a great position in town, as commuting is wearing me down!! Difficult gathering information though.

Well if you watched Cast Away on TNT last night you'd know they fly Gulfstreams...or atleast that's what the writer/director dreamed up.

They have more than a pair... Lears, Globals, and Challengers in the fleet. If you don't have a personal in (and at a minimum 1000 PIC Turbine), you're probably pretty much SOL when it comes to getting hired with them.

They haven't in the past, however I believe that issue is either being resolved or has so. I think the thought was that they wanted to keep the non-union corporate pilots (who might be privy to some sensitive info like executive travel schedules and destinations) away from the line/unionized guys? Based on what I've heard from friends, they don't get travel on other carriers. I'm pretty sure the department is a part 91 operation.

Heard they are in a hiring freeze. Any truth to that?

I believe the last person they hired was about 3-4 months ago give or take.
