I have been flying a Hawker. I was afraid that the Beechjet was a weak jet but didn't really know for sure.

If you have ever driven a 1975 Ford F250 with the power steering pump out and all the ball joints whomped out you know how the Beechjunk drives: The worst the conditions the worst it is to deal with.

Nice FMS, small, limited range with PAX's, no APU, cramped, cheap to opperate??? seems to break often, a "throw away" jet.......

If it pays the bills, then I guess it will have to do

Pain in the butt to fuel, it's a sloooow process.

Yeah, the fuse tanks are filled at the right engine pylon and it has to filter through a few tanks which is a slow process. The wings have to be filled over the wing. Rampers will cringe when they see you pull onto the ramp. :-)

Only if it is raining. The fuse tanks aren't bad to fuel but the wing tanks, man, they're messy if you go too fast.

And the diamond makes them BM in their pants.

If I never saw that aircraft again I'd be a happy person.

You don't like climbing over the engine to drip in fuel a teaspoon full at a time?

I knew that the diamond had fueling issues but I thought that Beechcraft would have fixed those and a few other issues.

Nope, when doing a top off on the wings, about 30 gallons before filled it starts spitting fuel out and it needs to be filled very slowly. In the trunk you can usually get in 50-70 gallons full blast, but then the rate needs to be retarded because it starts to bubble up.

It takes a while and gets very messy, it seems that all Beechcraft/Raytheon turbine aircraft are like that though. BE99, B1900, King Airs, etc. all have quirks that an inexperienced fueler will have trouble with. I don't know if it is the way the tanks are designed or because of the J-spout (if a round nozzle is used they are not as messy).

Either way, it seems like a reliable aircraft. The ones that come in broken a lot seem to be the Citations. That is from a line guy perspective though.
