Premier 1A Type rating
 
Looking for some info on the Premier 1A. I am a military guy that flew the T-1A. I have a type in the BE-400 and the Mits. Diamond. Standard for what everyone gets out of pilot training. It sounds like the Hawker Beech Premier 1A is the exact same jet with just upgraded avionics. Will my Type in the Beech 400 apply when applying for a job flying the Premier.

Also, I believe that these Aircraft are very similar if not exactly the same. Can anyone give any advice on how I should say this on a resume without mistakenly misleading the HR department.

Different type rating.
 
While these two aircraft are similar, they do not share a common type rating and are not the same aircraft.

While an employer may see value in your Be-400 experience, you would still have to go to school for the Premier type rating...

There aren't a whole bunch of Premiers flying anyhow - the Be-400 type rating is far more marketable.

If I was applying for a Premier 1A job, what's the best way to annotate that experience to corporate HR personnel and make myself the most competitive..
Any suggestions

The Premier and the Beechjet, while they share some similar systems, are really totally different animals. The construction and dimensions are different.
The Premier has a max gross of 12,500 lbs as opposed to 16,300 for the Beechjet, and is certified in the normal category, not the transport category like the BE-400.

The Premier is a RA-390. You can have a RA-390 S rating which will allow you to fly single pilot.

Showing an employer jet experience will be required. The BE-400/MU-300 will be good for that.

I had no previous Premier experience (Came from CE-560, where most of my time was SIC).

There are just over 200 Premiers in the world, and less than 800 typed pilots. There are oodles and oodles of Beechjets.

If I was looking to get a type in this jet... Where did you go and how much did it cost you. Can you tell me a little about your job and how you like the jet. Did you get hired into that position and get the company to pay for the type or did you have to go on your own. How much can i expect to make in this line of work. Just trying to figure out if this is a position that's for me. Thanks for the help. PM me if you want. Anything is appreciated

FSI Wichita-Hawker Beech and FSI Wilmington are the only places to get a RA-390 Type.
If you are going to fly corporate, your personality must fit the company culture well. In addition to being a good pilot, good people skills are also required. I had previous 135/corporate background, and was also current in another type of airplane also flown by the company.

My advice is to never pay for a Type out of your own pocket!

Just curious..

Anyone remember how much it would cost if I, or the company would be willing to pay for the type from FSI??

between $15,000 and $20,000.

FSI doesn't do "cheap" type-ratings, unfortunately.

Ditto. Plus add over two weeks lodging, meals, travel costs, etc. (Big if you are paying for it).
