Any Falcon 900 drivers here?
 

I might have an awesome & unique opportunity, especially with my hours, to be a right seater in a Falcon 900. If things pan out, I will be headed up to Moonachie, NJ to Flightsafety for a full type rating sometime soon. I have a little exposure to FMS's, jet ops, and the systems that go along with such a sophisticated aircraft from classes that I took pertaining the general area. But I want to hear from those that have been through it and can offer me any words of wisdom, so I can stay ahead of the curve. Will I pretty much be sequestered in my hotel room for the majority of the time studying and bringing myself up to par? What was your overall experience like? Any help and/or advice will be much appreciated.

You will enjoy flying the Falcon 900. Many pilots refer to it as a pilot's airplane. easy to fly, nice straight forward design, a great airplane all around. FSI in TEB has a wealth of knowledge, great place to learn. Wish I was still flying one. Good luck to you.

If it'll be your first jet get ready to have your hands full. A blast to fly but not as forgiving as say a regional jet or turboprop. A lot of performance!! You will never hear a pilot complain about a Dassault product. Good luck.

Get the training manuals from one of the other pilots and study up before you go. Learn the limitations section and emergency procedures (memory items). That will put you well ahead of the curve. Read through the systems descriptions, but don't overload yourself with details. Your initial course will cover all that in depth. FSI should be able to provide you with the course prep package. If you know your memory items and limitations you should be in pretty good shape. If you can sit in the airplane and touch the switches, so much the better. Good luck.
