Mx Programs

Hey guys...got a quick shot in the dark for ya'll...as much as I hate my boss and want to strangle him I'm gonna take everyone's advice and stick it out for at least a full year. That being said, I'm trying to find a good computer program that would allow us to keep track of all maintenance and scheduling....something along the lines of an application/ aviation specific spreadsheet where you just type in the hours flown by hobbs or whatever and the program automatically updates all times (TBO's, cycles etc.,) for you...does anyone know of any product like that currently available on the market?....I tried Googling it with all kinds of word combinations but didn't come up with a whole lot...thanks in advance !

What kind of Plane would this entail?

Many manufactures have their own program, and their are few aftermarket ones. Right now C.A.M.P. comes to mind, but I know there are many more out there.

Turbo Commander AC 690 B C.A.M.P. ? What does that stand for...I'm guessing something like Commercial Aviation Mx Program ?....I'll Google it and see what I get ...thanks

Probably Computer Aided Mx Prog...... Good product. They cover the full spectrum of products. Allows tracking of all items, customization, they provide full set of work cards for phase checks etc... Probably $3000 or $4000 a yr for your aircraft.

tra you're right

...yeah i just got off of the phone with them...they sound pretty comprehensive as far as Mx goes ! ...unfortunately they don't do turbo commanders but the guy said they could custom design a program for us...just for ya'lls information (if you are interested) I was quoted $2,600.00 anually for the King Air 200 .....i don't know about the rest of you guys but my boss is pretty tight ....getting him to spring for that kinda cash would be nothing short of a miracle....anyone have any stories they'd like to share about this thing saving tons of cash please write...heck i tried to get him to sign up to partsbase.com (which i thought would be a big help) and he poo-pooed that real quick ! ...well anyway fly safe ya'll and thanks again

In the big scheme of things, $2,600 is cheap. (Heck- you probably get close to paying that every other trips in fuel and handling costs.) Sometimes you can't reason with bosses like this.

Do the best you can and keep looking for greener pastures. If you can't sell him on tracking software that helps aid efficiency and ensures safety and regulatory compliance, then you probably will have a hard time selling other needed improvements.

kudos flyerjosh ! my man...you pretty much nailed it ! amazing how short sighted the "big bossman" can be huh..? they don't ever seem to see the big picture do they?.....it's more like.."what...you want to spend two thousand dollars of my money...why?....we don't NEED that"....you almost want to say something sarcastic in response like "yeah ...we don't NEED toilet paper either" ....but it makes life a whole lot fresher... !

There is too much at stake if an inspection(s) get missed, reoccuring AD's don't get done, etc.. Both on your FAA ticket, Plane, and when he goes to sell the Plane.

These Programs are worth their price when your Boss goes to sell the Plane.

I agree with the others, do your best for now, but start to look elsewhere. This is just the start of the chepness. Got a few of those TShirts myself. Good Luck to you.

Another selling point would be to help stabilize Mx costs. Some Mx programs have you pay into a program per hour of use of the aircraft. This will help level to costs of time limited parts and labor. It also sometimes helps on paying for unexpected items.
