That is a very good estimate in my opinion. I know of several in our area that pay very well with one of them paying $84,000 and the other $70,000.

I have seen range $45k to $60k from four California 135 and 91 operators. Day rates between $350 to $400.

Where is your area and are those companies hiring? I don't know a single King Air captain in the southeast that breaks $70,000/year.

Default Southeast pay

I make a lot more than $70k, so it can be done. Just ask for what you want.

Hopefully a King Air 300 CA can get at least 80K -85k starting pay if he has a few yrs. experiance. It took me 6 yrs. to get 75 in a PAY3 now my job is ending. Was offered a 350 job at $80K. This is SP and can require long, long days. 300-400hrs./yr. Everyone has a different situation. You have to let the airplane owners that you're not a 2000 hr. pilot. If you are a 2000hr.PIC then don't expect much over 50K unless you're lucky. You deserve more but owners are sometimes tough until you prove yourself. A good relationship with the owners is also worth a lot (to some of them). If you are a SP and also track maint. etc. and do all the work (one man show) then expect more. Benefits and vacation days are an important consideration. Work hard, enjoy your job and the money will come.

I also know of one guy flying a King Air 200 for a San Francisco law firm making well over $70k with co-pilot day rates of $250. Cost of living is high in that city, however.

Default Updates

Just happened upon this conversation which is fairly old. Any updates to B200 compensation in this modern era of increased pilot demand? Wondering what a part 91 B200 pilot would expect to earn annually in say, Florida, Texas or California. What additional benefits would typically be included (medical, dental, vision, etc...) and how often are these pilots flying? Thanks
