Hiring Websites

Are becoming a member of sites like climbto350 or avianation beneficial or helpful? Is anyone a member or recommend one site that they think does it the best?? I mean has a RANGE of jobs and not just the 5000 TT and 2500 PIC jobs... thanks!!

My experience is that unless you're well qualified, pilot job postings don't do much good. Most ad's want applicants that have years of experience both in type, PIC and other areas. For the pilots looking to transition into a new area of the industry it's best to get to know the locals.

I think that two of my favorites are Pilot Job:: Flight Attendant Job:: Airline and Aviation Job Site and Will Fly For Food - Professional Pilot Jobs, Interviews, Pay Rates, Forums and more!!!

They have a wide variety of jobs, from banner towing to 747 CA. Good luck.

Any updates from anyone on this? I'm also looking for input on pilot job websites that provide US corporate job openings. I've tried climbto350 and planejobs in the past. Anything better out there?

I'm in corporate aviation, an odd corner but there. Websites might give you an idea what's going, what's being offered, but there is NO substitute for knocking on the doors of departments in the area you are interested in and networking by getting known for being a good worker and pilot. And, do not forget, for most corporate operators, the most important criteria is, "can we go out on a seven day trip with this person and trust him while having a good time.". Sounds silly, but it is not the airlines and I've done both.

A lot of trips will have days off with only the two of you, can you still be a good traveler on the 3rd day in the hotel or will you be swinging from the chandeliers? Can you be trusted with the right answers and actions after an all night flight landing in a foreign country with no radar? When the boss is two hours late, can you roll with the punches or get all in knots?

We have a ops manual and very comprehensive rules, we follow them precisely, but still have to accommodate the last minute deals.

Most operators need to see turbine PIC time, but don't let that stop you from visiting. It can be more fun than a human should be allowed (I mostly love my job, where else can I get 5 days in the South Pacific or a safari for two days in South Africa, PAID), or it can be a pain.

There are overseas jobs, but unless you know the operator, I'd be very careful. There are US operators hiring, sales are slowly picking up.

Try the website indeed.com. Search single word jobs (ie pilot, captain) as is...but more than one word (flight instructor) use parentheses..."first officer". The website has jobs consolidated from sites such as findapilot, pilots4rent etc. I've found that indeed.com has by far the best info. Climbto350.com has lots of jobs too, but not so much corporate. On that site, you'll find several listings for overseas flying jobs, if that's what you're looking for. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. Getting face time with some flight departments here would be ideal but a bit of a challenge with airports on lockdown. I've managed to send in resumes to a few.

I've used indeed.com for over a year and have found some great opportunities. I'm just concerned with missing out on opportunities that are only on the paid sites.

I have recieved calls as a result of climbto350 over the years. The NBAA job postings is probably the best source I can think of for corporate jobs but both of these sites require experience and currency usually.

Give Findapilot.com a look over. I found my current job on there.
