Default Corporate pilot benefits

Hi,

Do corporate pilots such as ones that work for a specific corporation (not NJ or flex), get JS passes or standby when flying on the airlines?

Thanks

Chris

I do not enjoy such benefits at my current employer. I do not believe others do either.

Thats what I figured... I guess if you want to go anywhere they'll let you borrow the king air or Gulfstream for the week

The only travel benefit that I know of for non-121 guys is that CHQ will allow 135 jumpseaters in the cabin (Or at least they used to). All you needed was an ID.

Most part 91 guys make enough money to buy tickets, as well as collect points on the road (unlike the airlines). I buy everything with a "rewards" credit card, then expense the bill back to the company.

Some people will allow you to do this; well maybe not the Gulfstream guys, but who knows.

I use the airlines to commute when the boss goes somewhere and stays for a while. The company pays for me to do this, but I don't get any special treatment.

It depends on the company... Some 135 guys actually have agreements with other carriers.. very rare though. An operator I interviewed with had an agreement with Fedex...

I don't know of an airline company that will allow you to JS. You have to have a recepricle agreement on JSing.

I pulled it off one time out of ord as a corporate pilot.....I had a ticket but the flight was full so they let me sit in the cockpit (united) after showing my credentials and so on, however now post 9/11 the cass program has taken effect and if your airline is not on the cass list then even if you are a 121 pilot you still wont get in ....some let you sit in the back, room permitting....I dought very strongly that any non-121 crew will see a takeoff from the cockpit these days....cockpit security is very strict at our airline as we are cargo and do not have any cabin seats....except for the blue water one!!!!

Many airlines (including mine) will allow ANY 135 pilot to cabin jumpseat. You just need your ID, license, and medical. This does not apply to part 91 corporate ops of course.

I guess not many guys know about it, because I only get about 3/year.

Also, jumpseating is for your own PERSONAL use. Do not do it for business travel related to your company...they should buy the ticket in that case.

Some 121 captains don't like 135 guys cuz they suspect that they are travelling on company business. We are perfectly willing to help you out by extending a professional courtesy, but we don't really want to help your company reduce it's costs so it can compete with us by stealing our fir$t cla$$ customers....
