BBJ Opperators
 

I'm an airline pilot that has enough and ready to go back to corporate flying. I have 8400 hours as captain on B737's I'm looking for a list of BBJ operators or a way to find a BBJ job. Can any one help or point me in the right direction please.

Checkout the regional section it lists bizjet operators. Also, you may want to contact NBAA and see if they can help identify BBJ operators.

Why would he look at the regionals to find biz jet operators???? To my knowledge, the only one on the site that has BBJs is NetJets. Unfortunately we don't hire directly into the BBJ.

Keep in mind registration addresses (finance companies) and aircraft bases are not always coexistent.

There are many faux BBJ operators out there with older 737-200/300/400s. BBJs are -700/-800

I've tried the FAA site and have found that most companies hide behind a Fi company.

I tried to find that list in the Regionals but could not find it. Do you know where it is?

I've always enjoyed the information I can glean from the maintenance shops. Ok, I come from a mx background, so I'm a little biased. Really, if you have friends that work at the corporate shops, they can be a lot of help with networking. If you don't know any, it's worth buying a round at the local pub where they head after work. You'd be surprised what you can learn that way!

Right now it appears the highest paid pilot job in the US is flying a Boeing Business Jet for Avjet BBJ. Starting Captain salary is $237,000 but they require 5,000 total time and 3,000 in type. I don't know whether or not that is waiverable. I know a former Frontier Airlines pilot that works there and I believe he's making in the 350K range but he's also in management, so I don't know the real upper limit of the line pilot pay scale. There are a couple of BBJ jobs that are still in the US. Several of the BBJ's that were operating in the US have been sold or operating in other parts of the world now. Most of the BBJ operators are good old boys clubs. Too many ex airline types won't get much play either. Thats just because of the known fact that ex airline guys don't adapt well to the corporate side.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I never did understand this sentiment. As an ex "airline" guy that now works corporate, I think I've adapted extremely well. The truth is, it has nothing to do with "ex-airline" guys, but the person in general. If your an arrogant, pampas, a$$, (I assume this is the stereotype of "airline guys") corporate isn't for you. If you are, well then stay with the airlines, franctionals, cargo, charter etc. Plain and simple.
