Default Serving Paxs.

How many of you corp. guys leave the cockpit in flight to serve your passengers? And, is it even legal to do so???

If Im up to get my meal or use the bathroom I will offer to take trash or bring a drink, but it is not required. There are no regs against leaving the cockpit other than all the O2 stuff. Sometimes its just nice to get up and stretch your legs.

I try to check on them at least once during the flight. Sometimes it can get pretty touchy. Some pax want to be left alone, while others expect the higher level of service.

I know in the 121 world, your only supposed to leave the flight deck for "physiological reasons". Wasn't sure about Part91, thats why I was asking.

Same with my operation. Alot of times the execs will ask us if we want anything.

We have a smaller cabin so if the passengers have trouble finding a trash bag, napkins, paper towels, etc. I often have to go back and look for it. It isn't a problem and other than O2 rules, nothing illegal about it.

Made my heart skip a beat, then I remembered that most operate 2-crew aircraft, hehehe

Reminds me of someone who said they had some fun with the pax in the back, and let an empty bottle of whiskey roll back from the cockpit down the isle while enroute!

I go back once a flight and in a year I've poured one cup of coffee and opened three drinks. Most of our PAX are happy getting the drinks themselves.

In our company, the PNF will usually ask the passengers if they want a snack or drink after closing the door, while the PF starts the engines. By the time the second engine starter cuts out the PNF is climbing in the seat and the After Start checks begin.

Most of our passengers are regulars, so if one comes up (it ain't far in a Citation II) for a drink or snack 99% of the time we're asked if they can get us anything.

About halfway through the flight, we'll turn around to give them an ETA and take the opportunity to ask how the cabin temps are, or if they need anything.
