I have a couple friends that were furloughed in Sept and went to work for Miami Air. Both of them quit before the end of training, and did not have anything good to say about the company. They said that they were having a lot of trouble getting guys in class and then keeping them all the way through training. It cant be a good place to be if guys are quitting in this job market!

Are you talking about the NK guys? I find it hard to believe they quit during training, I think it was another issue....

I've been told that while the training is pretty good it's more in depth than most 121 airlines...ie build the plane. As such the washout rate is pretty high. Thats what I've been told anyway.

Hi!

It's because guys are furloughed from somewhere good, and don't want to go to the "crappy" regionals, so they go to Miami Air and expect it to be like UAL/AA, etc., and it's not.

If I get a better job offer than MIA AIr, I will take it. If MIA Air hires me, and I have nothing better, I would be ecstatic to fly with them.

PS-Do I think MIA Air is great? No. But it's better than what I'm doing now.

A friend of mine interviewed late Feb and was told he would be in an April class. Last week he was called and told the class was postponed. He is not sure when or if they will even have a class now due too the economy.
He was freshly typed on the B737 with Ng difference training.
