Colorado Leads
I am a current 121 FO, looking for something on the Corporate/Charter/Private side in Denver and the surrounding area. I am brand new to the area, and have no leads whatsoever. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

Colorado is a tough state, not that many jobs and folks never leave since they like the quality of life.
You're just going to have to get out there and network. Try Centennial, Denver met. and Colo springs airports to start with. Good luck. |
I pity the fool who b tryin' to find a good corporate gig in Colorado!
|
Lots of furloughed United and Frontier guys trying to find work as well. I live in the Springs and can tell you that there is not much happening at that airport. I had to go to Iraq to find a job.
|
Kinda what I'm finding.
Thanks fellas. Iraq? Thanks, but no thanks! |

Thanks fellas. Iraq? Thanks, but no thanks! Don't knock it...It's not that bad. Aside from being away from my family I am loving the job. I get to go home every 4 months for 2.5 weeks, I talk to my wife just about every day for an hour, Video with my kids several times a week, Free gym membership, LOL! and I'm not really working that hard, so lots of time to read, study or work on hobbies. All that and the pay check is not bad either. After 1 year here I'll be able to ride out the economy for several years when I get home. Heck, my wife and family are doing so well that we are considering a second year... Cheers, Tweet |

but you're right, I don't see that many Colorado job postings, WEIRD. |
I work out of KBJC and have seen that colorado is a tight network and is very hard to break in with out the golden ticket. Also, most people who live in colorado dont fly their private jet to Aspen or Telluride, they just drive. WAAAY safer! There are some great companies in the area though and if you live here it is best to do some research and see what companies are available and get your name on the desks of those that are in charge. I havent heard of any hiring at BJC recently but expect the next two years to turn around very quickly

I work for i3. To be competitive you will need recent AF UPT experience, T-6 stink on you and a current security clearance. I'm not sure who is taking apps...I was recruited.
Cheers, Tweet Does it HAVE to be AF UPT and T-6 experience or is other service/aircraft training experience competitve? USMCFLYR |
jacksjj, check your pm's

Hey USMC,
I'll PM you when I get a chance... Cheers, Tweet |
Are they looking for more guys? I visited the website and searched for pilot and instructor jobs with no luck. Do you need T-6 IP experience or will having been a T-6 student suffice? Sounds like an interesting oppurtunity.
|
T-6 IP experience will be desired. They are not actively recruiting (getting plenty of interst by WOM) so I would just fill out an app on the careers section. If given a choice, look for GFT...Global Flight Training department.

TWEET: I get to go home every 4 months for 2.5 weeks,
ME: Yikes. You are gone 85% of the time. That is the worst aviation job I have ever heard of. I have never seen an employer that valuable. |

TWEET: But at what I'm being paid I can be home 100% of the time for the next 3-4 years (based what I was going to be paid at an entry level major airline / frac job and normal progression) Based on my simple math I will have only been gone 20-25% of the time. In my eyes I have one of the better aviation jobs. |
BeenThereDoneit, Tweet46 you guys have to remember that is everybody is different, in unique situtations, what works for some DOES NOT work for others....Personally, the job Tweet46 describes does not appeal to me, I don't think I could do that.
But it seems like its working for Tweet, sounds like he's happy there and I'm sure he's being well compensated..... like I said, everybody is different |

I'm just a typical guy who likes to defend himself when uninformed folks criticize my choices. My apologies to BeenThereDoneit. Cheers, Tweet |
