Default Falcon 10

Hello all. I had a customer approach me about putting his Falcon 10 to work again he has had it parked for about 2 years. I am working on getting the MX records and MX manuals so I can determine what needs to be done to return it to service. I was hoping some people on here would have some insight on the Falcon 10. Thanks

Better ask the Falcon Shop that is going to do the work. Did this with a Hawker that sat 6 months and the inspections and time life items required was incredible. Sitting is the worst thing that can happen to a airplane, especially something as complex as a Falcon 10. Just determining what needs to be done is a huge job.

I am also and A&P with and IA and have conformed a few aircraft for 135 so I am not worried about doing the audit. I would rather put the dollars in my pocket but if it looks like it is going to be a big project I am not too proud to not farm it out. I am hoping to just get some people I can hit up with questions as things come up as I am not familiar with the 10.

Seneca Flight Operations in Penn Yan, NY. They've had one for 15 years.

Flightexec - Flight Info

These guys operate 3 Falcon 10's out of Markham CYKZ, Buttonville Airport Toronto. They just returned a another leased Falcon 10 a couple of months ago, but if you phone them, I'm sure they could answer most if not all your questions.

Skycharter

Skycharter of Toronto have operated the original Falcon demonstrator N10FJ, which they bought in 1980 and still operate it to this day, registered C-GRIS.

There maintenance guys are easy to talk to, just give them a call.

You may have a serious engine issue to deal with. See the TFE731 information below from Duncan Aviation:


Low Engine Use May Yield High Repair Costs

Duncan Aviation advises that all operators of Honeywell engines that do not run them frequently and want to keep them off the Damaged Engine List should spool them to N1 rotation speed once a month and make a logbook entry. Duncan also said engines dormant longer than six months require fuel system preservation. “Because of the depressed economy, many flight departments are reducing aircraft utilization,” Mike Bernholtz, turbine engine service sales rep, said. “We’ve seen an increase in the number operators who are experiencing the effects of long-term storage of their TFE731 engines when proper preservation procedures have not been followed.” According to Bernholtz, a typical repair for an unpreserved engine is a complete teardown to inspect mainline bearings, and the exchange of the fuel pump, fuel control, fuel manifolds and oil pump, as well as the replacement of all accessory/transfer gearbox bearings. “There are additional costs associated with this type of work scope, including other squawks found at disassembly, engine changes and shipping,” he added. “These are very costly repairs that engine programs such as MSP or JSSI will not pay for. The time and money it takes to follow the proper preventative procedures is well worth the effort.”
