Climb gradient in the Citation perf charts

Well I am kind of embarrassed to ask but it has been over 2 years since I have flown a Citation Cj or 500 series.

I can't for the life of me remember how to calculate climb gradient or where to find the chart. I remember it isn't on the takeoff chart it is some other place. I just can't remember where.

Thanks

Back of the AFM. ...or AOM. One of the two. Pretty sure it's the AFM while the "AOM" has cruise and flight planning information.

Altitude at top of climb - temperature - weight - look at the % - be disappointed. :D

The AFM has all of the performance charts for various altitudes and temperatures.

If you are trying to meet climb gradients you better get the CP Calc program from Cessna. I believe you can download a copy for a month from www.CessnaSupport.com.
They use all the options and you can't get these numbers out of the book. It is FAA Approved.

Any numbers that you can get out of CP Calc, you can get from the book. It's just a lot easier to use CP Calc... but it's also a lot more expensive annually.

Just get in and fly. You should make it.

I'm just kidding! Really though CP Calc is the way to go

I have a straight Cj operating manual and I'm pretty sure the chart isn't in there. I looked at every single page of chapter 7 (performance) and I couldn't find it.

I'll try and talk to some of the Cj guys at work and see if they have an AFM if that is different than an Operating Manual then that would explain why I can't find the chart :p

In my experience, climb gradient has always been in the Citation AFM...

CPCalc will give you better (more accurate) numbers. It uses proprietary data from flight testing.
