Pilots with A&P
Are there any companies looking for pilots with A&Ps?
I'm working as an instructor and have all my ratings and roughly 500 hours, 250multi. I received my A&P in the military, I realize that its hard to get your foot in the door with these low hour jobs but...I'm still searching. |

you might also look at Dynamic Aviation. They advertise for pilots with A&P's.

I use to work at Dynamic Aviation as a Pilot/Mechanic. Good Company to work for. I average about 400 hours for the year on King Air 90/100/200.

Try flight mech somewhere and work your way up, thats what I am working on. Get the Flight Engineer rating while your a flight mech. They want quite a bit of experience though. I have the same thing you have except 1000/107 and some good mech experience. good luck

some years ago the flight engineer step was a good idea today not so much considering there are very few flight engineer jobs out there, fewer everyday. When looking for FEs airlines want a PFE who will not upgrade and with around 2000 hours working the panel on type. So please do your research before going out there and spending a couple thousands of your hard earned money on a flight engineer rating. I myself spent years as an FE waiting to upgrade neither myself or most of the other FEs at that airline got an upgrade, had to look elsewhere for an FO job. Again do your reasearch before investing time and money.

Don't be afraid to look at Corporate. Not to do the work (A&P), but to monitor
and help make budgeting decisions. Dave |
I actually applied to Dynamic Aviation and they called be back today. You said you averaged 400hrs a year, is that about the average for most? Also, the reconnaissance/surveillance jobs they have, what do you need to qualify for that?
Thanks |
