Electronic Weight and Balance Options

We are looking into using Aviation Software Solutions, Aircraft Performance Group (APG), Flyincg, and Ultranav. Any pro and con opinions or other options?

I see APG has an iPhone app, any one using this?

Also, Ultra-Nav seems to be running 4X the cost of the others....... worth it?

Thanks

ultranav worked for us (former emloyer...paid by them, of course). no issues, kept us safe. not sure of the cost.

APG is runway analysis, Ultra nav is not. There is a way to put obsticles in on Ultra nav but you must know about the obsticle, where APG is runway analysis. We used UltraNav and have just switched over to APG. I have the iphone/ipad app and it is nice. I also prefer APG since they offer "special departure procedures" to carry more weight.

After using both I prefer APG as it gives me more info and it takes into account all the info I would have to lookup using UltraNav (TORA, TODA, ect....).

APG is fine. I have access to Arinc's version for the Falcons. They are good at providing guidence numbers.

But when I am concerned about performance, I do not trust a software program. I have seen grave errors in some of APG's climb performance charts at the higher altitudes (like above 4000') where accuracy is important. I believe you have to use the aircraft charts for critical performance figures. And none of those software programs consider contaminated runways.

If I can't justifiy my numbers in court to a sharp lawyer, I have no business being the Captain.

Just my opinion,

Kevin

GIV, we ended up going with flyincg. All we needed was the weight and balance since our FMS's do the performance stuff. The price was right and we had the program in a couple of days and it works great!

Thanks for all the input!
