Exclamation Link to 2011 Pro Pilot Salary Survey

I cannot claim credit for creating this document, just posting a link so folks who are curious about ballpark pay ranges can get that info.

Default Thanx

Boilermaker,
I would like to thank you for 2 things:
1) The flying investment pdf link.

2) the 2 draft picks the Celtics got from Purdue

You should just subscribe to Professional Pilot magazine and participate in the surveys, then you get an actual unplagarized copy for free (it's a good magazine the other 11 months as well).

Squaretail,
If I'm not collecting the June edition from the mailman directly, the June edition always disappears before it even hits the coffee table. I guess I should just get my own subscription and stop whining...

You know I had the same problem a couple of times even with the subscription, but I assumed it was because it was being delivered to the office. Now that I get it delivered to my house, I get June every time. But I do send back the surveys too. It's a good mag -- and if it increases their ad revenue for me to subscribe, it's worth it to me! The subscription is free, so the price is right...

Here is the link to their subscription page, just follow the link to the application for free subscription. They are just looking for aviation professionals for the free subscriptions, not that hard to qualify if I remember correctly. If it is otherwise, please post a follow-up comment.

I was flipping through this magazine when I found it in the cockpit the other day. Being a CRJ200/700 FO I noticed the low salary for the type was 28k and 36k. I wish I would have started with either one of those salaries. Low should be 17-19k. Maybe lower 20s but that's only for the workaholics who kiss sched's butt while on reserve to break guarantee.

Just curious what the formula is here. I know this is in the corporate section but folks may want learn more about how the mag derived the low salary listings. Are folks out there flying business jets for much less than the low numbers posted? How about the dynamics of those bonded contracts that keep folks from bailing after they get the type? Are those folks actually making those low salary numbers? I doubt it.

The article is good and works as a tool to strengthen aviation pay in general.. but realistic? I dunno.
