Citation Type Ratings

Love the discussion about paying for a type, vs not paying.
For about 25 years Southwest required a type just to APPLY. I thought then that it was total BS and still do. But, I have several senior Captain buddies there now who found the time and money to get a type while they were being paid peanuts as commuter (T-Pro) pilots. Trust me, that was the BEST money they ever "wasted".

CE500 type relevancy
I'm considering a CE550 position at a mom and pop Part135 flying as SIC initially with quick upgrade to PIC at 1500TT. In terms of career trajectory, how valuable would this experience and type be down the road for future employment vs flying something newer/more relevant? How would this experience look on a resume compared to 121 experience at a regional or flying a better biz jet? Ultimately, I'm trying to get to a major or a NetJets.

Citation type for contract flying
If one wants to do contract flying in Citations, which Citation type seems best? Where has the demand traditionally been for Citation contract flying?
CE-525 CJs

CE-525 with differences in the 3+ and the 4 are probably gonna be your best bet. You'll get SIC Required unless you have the "S" single pilot designation. Most insurance wont let them fly single pilot. Ive been paid $1,100/day plus expenses to right seat a CE-525 (CJ3).
