Foreign charter companies based in the USA

Hi all,

My friend just got hired by a Hong Kong corporate company based in the USA. Since the company is not American they will sponsor him with working visa and everything. He was actually quite shocked that he actually got the job, as he did not have any jet experience. But the company appreciated his JAA and FAA certificate, since they fly all the time to Europe.

I was just wondering are there a lot of foreign corporate companies in USA? Could someone name few of them? Just want to try my luck as well. I have tried to look for it, but very few of them actually say that they are not Americans.

Thanks.

I dont think your info is correct. Your friend probably flies an aircraft on a Hong based certificate. Plenty of US operators have aircraft based all over Asia. The live and work over there. I lived in London and flew a CL601 on a US part 135 cert. Every training event I did was back here but I lived there.

Or maybe I am just misunderstanding your friends situation.

My friends got a job in the USA, based in Boston, for a Hong Kong company. Airplane is N- registered and he got a job based on his FAA certificates.

just wondering if anyone knows companies like that.

thanks

You are mixing things up--charter operators must be US-owned, foreign corporations may have US subsidiaries that base planes, registered to the US subsidiary, in the US. I worked for BOC Group, British, but flew their US-based and registered Sabre 65 in the '80s. It was originally AIRCO.

Their are many such operators still. Daimler-Chrysler was also one, until the breakup. Novartis has two departments, one US and one Swiss.

Thanks GF, that's what I meant. I am sorry if I did not explain that well.

Anyone knows foreign business jet companies that have bases in the USA?
