Thanks, I was called about a King Air 350SP job, but had neither king air experience or its been a substantial period since Ive last flown single pilot. I was really hoping to get in with a charter/corporate job in Houston. But I dont know anyone or even know how to go about applying to them. I suppose just go knocking on doors? The chief pilot was extrememly nice, and told me to keep his number and call every mo and see if another position pops up. I will still try. And I suppose any info would be good info.

Well good luck, If I still had my job as a Director of Operations I would try and use you but my company went to NetJets and so I am "bumming" flights until I find another job.

Wings...is larger then a Part 135 mom and pop operation but all the folks I know who have interviewed there (and have not been hired and that includes me so that should say something I guess) all come away with similar notions ...its hard to pin them down on a job or what the job pays...or a few other things. Everyone was nice enough at the one interview I went to but well I worked hard in the interview to get the job and would have loved it had I gotten it; but to me it just had that illusive nature. Thats not very helpful..I just came up short with an oil company here in Houston (one of two they chose the other person) and the feeling I had was entirely different. The oil company was straight up, they could tell you all the things about the job and what they expected of you. When I didnt get the job the Chief Pilot called to say "sorry" and all...it had the feel of what I would have done chosing between two well qualified (and the other person was) candidates.

Sorry probably not much help

Thread Revival; I'm trying to find out some more recent info regarding Wing Aviation based out of Hobby.

I'm currently active duty Air Force and would love the opportunity to fly based out of Houston, Conroe, Dallas or Austin. Any information regarding their pilot lifestyle, hiring minimums, or pay would be appreciated.

Bump! I'm trying to get some insight on these folks as well. Any inside info? Thanks.

Bump x2...any info? it looks like they're based out of Conroe.

Here is some info:
Decent pay
QOL not so good.
Per diem is good.
But QOL is not important to the company.

I interviewed with them over the phone in 2010. They got my resume somehow as I did not apply. It was really a pleasant experience, but I could tell he had me confused with someone else. I never got called back. I remember pay was around 45k and he spoke highly of the pilots working there at the time.

Care to elaborate on the lack QOL?

That pretty much seems to be the norm in almost all of aviation......sad to say.

Thread bump back from the dead. Anyone have any new info about this place? Looking around at different 91/135 ops. Spoke to a former receptionist that had mixed feelings, and one pilot that says he liked it there. QOL? Pay? Benefits? I know this can probably vary significantly depending on airframe since they seem to be a fairly large 135 operator.

Thanks!

A lot of growth here and positions being open/filled. How’s the QOL?
