I called the 1-800 number on their website and it is only a voice automated answering service. It does not even mention the name of the company. You can only leave a message for "your party", and the party is always unavailable. I know it's Saturday, but I figured you can reach a real person with a 1-800 number. Be very leary everybody. It might be a scam.
As I mentioned earlier, this for a Flight Instructor position, the book is fundamentals of instructing. The final assessment consists of 100 multiple choice questions, including some personal info, including your age! Here are a couple examples:
A Trainer opens a CPR certification class with a true story of an employee who became ill at work and was kept alive by a co-worker administering CPR until paramedics arrived. Which adult learning principle is the Trainer focusing on?
Choose one of the following answers

  • a,) Readiness
  • b.) Respect
  • c.) Autonomy
  • d.) Action
The Trainer is preparing the instructional objectives, the evaluation plan, and sequence of content for a new training program. Which step of the ADDIE model is being performed?
Choose one of the following answers

  • a.) Analysis
  • b.) Design
  • c.) Development
  • d.) Implementation
The training specialist has been enlisted by the senior staff to facilitate a culture change surrounding the company's new vision statement. The company management has a history of actively and enthusiastically embracing management fads but none of their past five initiatives have lasted more than a year. What will be most important in the change management process to ensure a true culture shift occurs?
Choose one of the following answers

  • a.) Visible support from the CEO early in the process
  • b.) Periodic reviews and adjustments to support systems

I feel a little stupid because of this. When I did the assessment the first time, I simply clicked on the link that was in the e-mail address. Those questions were exactly the ones that you posted above.

Here's the boo boo. I went back to the e-mail today and noticed that the "blue" link did not span completely across the entire web address. There were three symbols that are actually part of the web address, but were not accounted for on the URL link that I could click. I simply copied and pasted the complete URL address and it took me to a different test, one different then the one you mentioned above.

This new assessment test is the Commercial Pilots assessment test, and it does include helicopter, weather, nautical, and basic aviation questions.

I got the same email and they said they would be in contact with me to set up a phone interview but still have not contacted me. Did anybody complete the phone interview? Did anybody find out who this is for?

I also received a similar email except mine is from Boyden Search for a position in Los Angeles. Same job description but seems really vague. I'm a skeptic and leaning towards this is some kind of scam.

Same here with Boyden Search for the position in LA. I am requesting additional details before I proceed to divulge personal information.

That's what I got too, same description-word for word, LA based, Boyden.
Just completed the online app. Nothing terribly personal.
Will let you know what happens next. Received this immediately after hitting the 'Submit' button:

"This email confirms that we have successfully received the Pre Employment Questionnaire you submitted. We will review your answers and get back to you with any questions or concerns.

Next Steps:

Candidates that are being considered for further review will be contacted within 1 week via email from your recruiter with instructions for a Pre-Employment Skills Assessment test. The Pre-Employment Skills Assessment test is a critical indicator as to whether a new employee will be successful. The pre-employment test should take anywhere from 30 - 60 minutes depending on the position in which you are applying. Please take the necessary steps to review for the test accordingly. Because we rely heavily on the pre-employment test conclusions when making a determination of whether to continue the recruitment/hiring process with any given potential employee. This pre-employment test is a not just a formality in our recruiting process but rather a critical indicator as to whether a potential employee will be extended a position upon completion of the hiring process.

"Just sending a quick message to let you know that we are still processing your information and you are still being considered for our immediate openings. Phone screenings are being scheduled, you will receive a call from our scheduler to confirm a time for the phone screening. However, before I can have the scheduler confirm your telephone screening, we need to make sure all the previous necessary steps have been completed."

Don't hold your breath. I got this e-mail back on 12-28-12 and didn't even receive any other e-mails or not even a call. I followed up with a few e-mails as followups and not even anything. Try going to their website and calling the phone number that is on the website? Can't even get in touch with a real person.

Look for something else. Just a scam.

Thanks. I just sat down to type a message that this is scam when I saw your post. I confirmed it through another forum I am a part of. Heidrick's website was established Nov 12.
The letters are exactly the same, the process, ad infinitum, ad nausea. It seems to be an attempt to get you to by this study book, and possible data mining.
