Jack Henry Flight Dept?
 

Does anyone know first hand how the flight department is? Also, what is the QOL there and pay like? Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Parden my ignorance but, whats Jack Henry? or who?

They are a corporate (part 91) outfit located in Monett, MO and they have an opening for a Encore driver. I was told they have 5 planes. I believe they deal with banking software.

From what I have heard (all secondhand knowledge though) is that this is an operation that you'd most likely want to stay away from. Sounds like pay and QOL are substandard and the CP is a bit of a pain. But like I said, all second hand knowledge/rumor.

I do know that they seem to advertise for FO's quite a bit, so perhaps that is indicitive of the type of operation they have? These days good corporate job is generally one where you somebody has to die or retire to create an opening...

Thanks for the info......I can say that the pay is not substandard but I'm not sure about the QOL.

They seem to have an ongoing ad out for pilots.

I had a phone interview with these guys last year. You can expect to fly about 500 hours a year, starting F.O. pay is 50k, CA starts around 70k. The reasons I did not go for the job were that you have to relocate to Monett, MO. It's about a two hour drive to any form of modern civilization. The only restaurants I could find on a google search at the time were a Hardee's and a Chinese restaurant. The other downside was that although I had about 300 hours of Encore PIC at the time, they would not let me fly as PIC, at all, even on empty legs, until I had 1000hours in type and had passed their specific training. The gentleman I talked to was quite nice, answered every question, and completely understood why I was not interested in taking the position.

Sounds like I would take a pass on that operation.

Ive dealt with a few of there pilots when i was working the line. All the pilots where really nice. As many times as they came in (once every two weeks or more) they never over nighted. Always saw pilots wearing jeans or business casual.

Knew several pilots who worked there. The told stories about the operation that I didn't think could occur in the United States. I flew with a guy that used to work there. The whole time he talked about how they did it at Jack Henry and how I was stupid because I did stuff like use checklist and calculated a weight and balance. It is in chicken country and I think the only way a pilot would fit in there is if you are a chicken farmer...there operation is a bunch of chicken poop!
