I’ve flown quite a few celebs. I can’t say I’ve had any bad ones, but there are definitely some quirky and interesting ones. The coolest ones I’ve flown would be Carol Burnett, Joel Thomas Zimmerman (Deadmou5), and Brittney Spears.

Don't fly corporate, but a friend used to be an assistant manager in charge of maintenance at a high end hotel in Salt Lake City. It is where all the celebrities would stay when they were in the city, and all the NBA teams that were playing the Utah Jazz would stay there as well. So he had seen a fair share of celebrities. Britney Spears stayed there on tour right after she hit it really big, and there was a maintenance issue in her room. As a manager, he had to go up and supervise the repair. He also said she was very cool and down to earth. While he was there, it was just Britney, her manager, a makeup person, the maintenance guy, and my friend. He said Britney just sat on the bed and chatted with him for about 20 minutes while the maintenance guy did his work. Said she was very friendly, and actually seemed like she was starving for just a normal conversation with a regular person.

Had the Beach Boys on a flight probably about 15 years ago. Super laid back and polite group of young men.

When I was a freshman in college (circa 1972) I was ferrying a C-172 while listening to an AM radio station. It was night time.. smooth as glass and I squeezed the cheapass headset as tight as it would go while listening to "Killing Me Softly with His Song" by Roberta Flack.

I knew right then and there I wanted to do fly airplanes for a living so I focused on doing just that.

Fast forward 40 years later I am the Captain on a B747-400 going from JFK to NRT and who is seated downstairs but Ms. Flack herself.

I write a short letter explaining how influential she and her music was in my decision to pursue this career path. During my break, I went downstairs and asked the Purser to deliver the letter when she thought it was appropriate.

After landing in NRT, Ms. Flack was waiting in the jetway with a cool gift and hand written response.

The circle was complete!

Fly safe,

OC

Muhammad Ali- Real nice guy, though the Parkinsons was taking its toll.
Michael J Fox- Quiet, but nice. Had his wife on board who did all the talking
Billy Joel- ehh, kind of an arrogant pr!ck.
A few WWE wrestlers- they were a riot.
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones- probably my favorites. Great, great people. She was stunning.
Boomer Esiason- nice guy, but has some corny-ass jokes
Bill and Hilary Clinton- he was personable, she was b!tch
John McCain- didn't really say much to us, but wasn't a bad guy.
Michael Crichton- tall and lanky. Very nice, as was his family
Derek Jeter- Yankee legend and great guy.
J-Lo and Ben Affleck- they were the worst. Almost like the hated each other, and us.
I'm sure there are more, though not coming to mind at the moment

When my sole is gone, I take it to the shoe repair place to get it resoled.

When my soul is gone, I go to church to recover it.

Sorry, I could not resist. . .
