Walmart Aviation latest and greatest

Anyone have any recent info on Walmart Aviation interviews? Any new gouge available?

dspilot 11-16-2013 06:10 AM

I ran into one of their guys on the road recently and he said that they are losing something like 6 guys........Good news I suppose if you are interested in getting a job there, but not sure what it says about the place if they are having that kind of turnover.......

I was there 8.5 years and left back in July. Still great pilots, good equipment, and a terrific part of the country to raise a family!

I only know of three others who have recently left or are in the process of leaving this year.

There are pros and cons to the job like any other.

Any chance you could tell me some of the reasons the people you knew left?

Not on a public message board. I was born at night, just not last night. ;-)

I heard from a good source the phone interviews start Monday. I don't have any good gouge on what they ask.

Read "Made in America" by Sam Walton. Be intimately familiar with Sam's rules for building a business and the three cornerstones of Walmart culture: respect to the individual, strive for excellence, and service to the customer.

Pepper all of your TMAAT questions with liberal doses of Walmart culture.

Remember, Walmart doesn't hire pilots. They hire great Associates who just happen to fly airplanes.

What is their pay like? Do you get your own rooms on the road?

ZapBrannigan 11-16-2013 05:17 PM

Pay is excellent for NW Arkansas. I believe they start in the 60s now. Most people are at six figures before 5 years.

Of course they don't share rooms! That hasn't happened for 15 years or more!

Do you keep points/miles? Do they pay for meals? Days off?
