Toyota moves to Plano, TX
Sources: Toyota isn't going to be the last big fish to land in Dallas - Dallas Business Journal
Anyone care to speculate/guess/crystal-ball what impact this will have on McKinney Collin County airport and if Toyota's corporate department (if one exists) will move also ? Thank You |
Toyota definitely has a flight department. Gulfstreams and might still have some Lears. Lots of trips to Japan as well. They will probably build you a very nice FBO as well, with a cool fish tank. California is the best at running business out of its state. When the current governor, Jerry Brown, was asked about Toyota's move and over burdensome taxation and regulation, he replied that the smart companies know how to stay here and deal with it... I think Toyota is plenty smart by leaving the state!

The manager at McKinney did say there were some big customers moving his way soon, but could not divulge who the customer was. Maybe it is Toyota. There is a big hanger next to TI that EDS used to use that would probably fit them nicely.

Plenty of articles on the news here in TX about the inability of the state to meet the demands of all the businesses and residents. water, roads, other services are falling behind. Particularly the cities that are in major debt, like Houston.

So when he said multiple customers that were coming soon he was just referring to one company?

Well the other company wished to remain anonymous, but I have it on good authority that the other customer, thus making it the "multiple customers" you seem so keen to note, is going to be "Red Forman's Douchbag Aviation Department".
