Many fatalities in younger patients in the USA are occurring in patients that have no idea they have underlying health conditions. Also, the obesity correlation and males in metabolic syndrome has a high rate of comorbidity. So BMI over 30, belly button waste over 40 inches, hypertension, pre-diabetes and elevated cholesterol is proving to have a high correlation with serious illness when infected with Covid-19 virus. Many males do not know they meet this classification but in the final pathology report they are classified as underlying conditions.
Also smokers, vapers and past smokers are extremely vulnerable.
Another interesting thing that came out in the journals recently is neurological damage that a small subset of patients are experiencing. There is evidence of acute necrotizing encephalopathy of some patients and is correlating with loss of smell and taste symptoms. This is a a very small subset but has affected patients of all ages.
Please don't have the false sense that this is only effecting older populations. Yes they are very vulnerable, but this is also affecting younger demographics and with some hospitals being overrun, patients of all ages will be vulnerable.
Please stay safe. Protect yourself and protect eachother.

The rate may be lower but the total fatality number remains the same.

The numbers of infections in younger adults is higher than expected but the death rate is much higher in individuals >60 or with underlying conditions.
