AA F/A dies of Covid-19...
Paul Frishkorn, a Philadelphia-based American Airlines flight attendant and union representative, died Monday from coronavirus, the airline confirmed Thursday.
"Earlier this week, we lost a respected, longtime member of the American Airlines family, who tested positive for COVID-19," a statement from American Airlines released Thursday read. "Our hearts go out to Paul’s loved ones, many of whom work for American."

This is sad but I'm afraid we are going to have to get used to it.
American Airlines has aproximately 40,000 crew members.
If 25% of us become infected ( a conservative estimate) and 2% die (another conservative estimate) that would be aproximately 200 of our co workers dying.
Not trying to be morbid. Just the reality.

Calling 2% death rate a "conservative" estimate seems anything but. Granted many crew members on the FA side are getting up there in age, a vast majority are not. The average age of deaths in Italy is still in the 80's, and I know we don't have pilots over 65 and prob not many FAs over 80!!!
guess you haven’t flown international out of phl huh

The global death rate is 3.9 %.
200 dead crew members is an accurate estimate.

Are the 80% of people who get mild symptoms and don't see a doctor accounted for in these 2%+ death rates?
