Interesting hypothesis, by someone who concedes they are NOT a medical doctor, who unnecessarily uses a lot of partisan language.
Here is something out of China that at least, on the surface, appears as though it might support the idea that blood cells not transporting oxygen is an issue.

I find the above link pretty hilarious. You think that any other first world country could give two craps about U.S. internal politics right now?
If any of what that guy writes was clinically proven true you really think that Australia, Netherlands, Canada, Sweden, France etc wouldn’t be all over that by now ? Or maybe, the author is just smarter than them all together...
